EUDR Update: Unigloves Is Well Prepared

EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) – What Does This Mean for You?
The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), adopted in 2023, is an important step toward combating climate change and protecting biodiversity. The regulation aims to ensure that certain products sold in the EU do not originate from deforested areas and are fully traceable back to their source.
Following a recent vote in the European Parliament, the implementation of the regulation has been temporarily postponed. Before it can finally enter into force, the text must still be formally adopted by the Council and published in the Official Journal of the European Union. This step is considered largely a formality and is expected to take place by the end of 2025. The postponement gives companies additional time to prepare and allows for a structured transition.
EUDR at Unigloves – Well-Prepared for the Future
As a major supplier, Unigloves will be in full compliance with the EUDR requirements as of December 30, 2026. The current postponement has no impact on our strategic direction—we have been actively working on implementation for quite some time.
The requirements of the regulation are being consistently integrated into our procurement, traceability, and compliance processes. This ensures that all relevant products will comply with future legal requirements. For you, this means you can continue to rely on Unigloves products with confidence.
Which products are affected?
The EUDR applies to products that contain or are made from raw materials such as natural rubber, soy, palm oil, wood, coffee, cocoa, or beef. In the PPE industry, this applies in particular to natural rubber and latex gloves, as well as certain packaging materials.
Our Approach to Implementation
Unigloves takes a proactive and sustainable approach to compliance with the EUDR:
• Full traceability of raw materials—from the plantation to the finished product
• Sourcing materials that are free from deforestation and comply with the law
• Provision of due diligence statements for affected products
• Conducting regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance
Many of these measures are already an integral part of our processes. In addition, we are involved in other sustainability initiatives, such as reducing plastic packaging and using certified, sustainable materials.
Sustainability with a Long-Term Perspective
Our natural rubber and latex gloves are made from renewable raw materials, are biodegradable, and are being further developed to ensure they meet the requirements of the EUDR well before the deadline.
